November 2011

November was a very special month for us since we welcomed our baby girl Brooklyn Michelle Werber into the family on November 15th! We found out that I was pregnant the day before Conners 1st birthday so that made for an interesting weekend! I was so excited to be having another little baby around but it was also a little scary since they were going to be less than two years apart. I was also pretty nervous since most of my pregnancy was going to occur during the summer! It all worked out pretty well and i didnt really notice the heat since we were gone almost the entire summer. Trying to prepare Conner was an interesting task since he didnt really understand what was going on, we talked to him about babies and that mommy was going to have one but I knew that it was going to be so much different once she was here. John and I both were a little nervous since he is such a boy meaning he is very rough and a little on the crazy side!! We knew this was going to be a journey but it was one that we couldnt wait to go on! Conner spent the night at my parents house the night before we went in for my c-section because he had been sick with a viral infection and just was starting to get over it when John caught it. This had me freaking out because I was afraid that they werent going to let John in the delivery room since he had been throwing up fro the past two days. The morning of my delivery he was feeling a little better so we headed over to my moms house so that i could take a few pictures with Conner before we went to the hospital.
My mom had dressed him up in his big brother shirt and we were all headed to the hospital to meet our baby girl!!

The hospital was really crowded that day so they had to give us an actual delivery room to wait in until my doctor was ready for surgery. This actually worked out perfectly for us because the whole family was able to wait in the same room with me instead of having to be in the hallway.

Once we were in the delivery room it seemed like it was only 10 minutes and then Brooklyn made her debut in the world! She was perfect weighing 7lbs15oz and she was 20in long. John was able to be in there with me and got a chance to cut the cord for the second time!

As soon as we were out of recovery and brought to our room my mom and dad brought Conner in to meet his new sister. As soon as he walked in the room and realized there was a baby in there his entire world changed. He was so excited and couldnt wait to get on the bed with me to hold this new little baby. He couldnt stop kissing her and although he was a little rough at times he was proving to be a great big brother.

The first few weeks home were really rough for us because John and to go to work as soon as we were released from the hospital and my grandma had come in from Texas to help with me and the babies but she had caught the viral infection along with everyone else at my moms house. John was working nights and days at the time so I was pretty much alone. The first Saturday that I was home my niece Hailee came over to help me since I wasnt able to lift Conner in and out of his bed and I was still having a little trouble getting around. I was soo appreciative of this because I didnt realize how much more pain I was going to be in this time since they did all of the extra work. The next day I was all alone but somehow it all worked out and then my grandma was finally feeling well enough to come over to the house on Tuesday and things slowly got better from there!!

A few weeks later it was Thanksgiving and we sure did have a lot to be thankful for! Unfortunately all of the pictures from thanksgiving are on my moms computer but we had a wonderful time. We went to my parents house and ate dinner and my mamaw was still here visiting us from Texas so it was nice to be able to share that time with her also. The Sunday after Thanksgiving I had bought tickets for Conner and I to go and see Yo Gabba Gabba live at the Orleans. He has become obsessed with this show and I knew with a new baby he would need a little time out by his self to feel special! My friend Bridget came with us and we actually had a really good time. It was so fun to see his face light up with excitement and a little fear when they all came out on stage. He really got into it the second half of the show.

I had never been to see anything like this live in concert but it is something that i would love to take him to again someday. I used to hate this show but he has really learned a lot from it and i can see that he really enjoys it every time its on.

October 2011

Halloween is always one of my favorite times of year! I love going to the pumpkin patch to take pictures and ride some of the rides or pet the animals but we have never bought a pumpkin there since they are so expensive. Last year we had to prop Conner up against pumpkins to help him stand since he wasnt actually able to do so but this time he was everywhere!
He had such a good time climbing up the haystacks, sliding down the slides and riding the rides they had. We even went back with some of our friends since he enjoyed it so much!
Conner recently started to put his hands in the air and come at you with a monster growl trying to scare you so I knew that for Halloween I wanted him to be Frankenstein (especially since i wont be able to pick out his costumes for very much longer). I found the cutest Frankenstein costume on line and he played the part perfectly!
We were lucky enough to go to trunk or treat with our friends a few weeks before Halloween and then to our wards trunk or treat a few days before Halloween so on the actual day he knew what he was doing!

On Halloween we have made it a tradition that my mom and dad (if he isnt working)come over and we have chili cheese dogs and pass out candy. For the last few years Megan and Ricardo have also come over to share in this tradition with us and it has been really fun! The girls took Conner around the neighborhood and the guys stayed back to pass out candy (play video games.)We think this is a great tradition and hope to do it for years to come!

I think blogs are an amazing thing and I really wish I didnt have this hard of a time remembering to write so wish me luck!

Family Photos and More

These past few weeks have been a lot of fun around here, my pepaw was able to come and visit the baby and we didn't think he was going to be able to come out for a few months so it was a great surprise. He flew in on Tuesday and brought some crawfish with him which were soooo good and something we haven't have for about a year! We had a few friends and family over at my moms house to enjoy it, and we had a lot of fun watching them eat it since none of them have ever had crawfish before. John's brother and sister in law came over and they discovered that one of the crawfish had escaped and landed in the pool alive and they brought it home for their kids to keep as a pet!! The rest of the week we just hung out with my pepaw so that he was able to spend some time getting to know Conner since he is growing ever so quickly.

We also took some family photos that John made pretty interesting. It is really hard to get him to be normal but he did ok in some of the pictures! I feel like I cant get enough photos of Conner becuase I dont want to miss anything that he does.

I really cant believe that he is already almost six weeks old and it will soon be time for me to go back to work. I never thought that I would want to be a stay at home mom because I am such a busy person but having a baby of your own really changes your perspective on it. I am going to miss him so much when I have to go back but I found out today that I have to have gal bladder surgery next week so I will be off for another week but it still isn't enough time. I keep telling myself that it will get easier with time but time will only tell!

One Month Already...

I cant believe that my baby is already one month old its amazing how fast this time is going. It seemed like wehn I was pregnant time went by like a snail and now he is growing like a weed. This past month has truly been amazing and I have learned a lot about myself like how long I can actually go without any sleep :) When he was about three weeks old he started to become a little colicky which has been pretty hard for us in the sleeping department but thankfully it isnt as bad as most babies that have colic. I feel so bad for him though when I put my hand on his belly you can feel all of the bubbles rumbling inside. Thankfully with a few minor changes to the way we feed him he seems to be getting a little better.

The week Conner was born my Mamaw on my dads side of the family was here and she was such a trooper. She stayed at the hospital everyday for at least 5-6 hours and then when we came home from the hospital she would come over everyday and help make sure everything was in order. Conner and I were both so lucky that she was able to come out and see her fourth great grandson and we hope that she gets to come back out really soon.

The following week my Nana on my moms side of the family came to visit and she was so excited because this was her first great grandchild. She stayed at our house and helped out a ton with cleaning and hanging out with the baby as much as she could. We went to see the easter bunny while she was here and since Conner had a doctors appointment we had to leave before purchasing the pictures, but she stayed and started to cry because she was so happy and the lady gave her free pictures! I was pretty excited about that part :) We had a wonderful easter morning and the easter bunny brought lots of clothes for the baby! We were sad to see her go but she promised that she will be back in August and she even got a camera for her computer so she can keep in touch and actually be able to see the baby.

The last two weeks we have pretty much been on our own unless we go to my parents house or if they come over here because John has been working like crazy.I am trying to soak up as much time with him as I can before I have to go back to work. Lucky for us though my mom will be watching him so I will at least know that he will be happy I didnt want to have to put him in daycare at least until he was walking.

Conner Wayne Werber

My beautiful baby boy is finally here! Ive been so busy the last couple of weeks that I havent had a chance to post anything about him. I found out pretty early on in my pregnancy that I was going to have a scheduled C-Section because I have a uterine fibroid that needed to be removed. Unlike most people I was beyond thrilled that I was going to have a C-Section because I was dreading going in to labor. I didnt want to have an epidural and stupid me thought that having a C-section ment that you wouldnt have to have one.

We went to the hospital on March 18th and he was born at 12:55 pm he weighed 8lbs 8oz and was 20inches long! John was having so much fun during the c-seftion becuase my doctor was training someone and so he was able to learn alot about the whole process. He was also taking pictures the entire time and let me tell you it is really weird to see what is going on on the other side of the sheet! We were in the hospital for two nights and I thought i was feeling good enough to go home, little did i know that as soon as i got home the real pain would kick in. We had to sleep on the couch because our bed was way to high for me to get in and our couch is extremely hard so the first week home we barely got and sleep. Im still healing and although I am feeling better each day I still tend to have major back pain that cause nausea every once in a while.

Being a mom is such an amazing, rewarding, and down right scary thing and I wouldnt trade it for anything. I didnt know what to expect but I knew that I was in for a ride and I am so proud of my husband for the father that he is. I always knew that he would do a great job but I think that he has really done more than i ever expected and hopefully he keeps it up lol!

New Years Eve

We had a wonderful New Years this year eating dinner and playing games with good friends. We usually go to the strip to watch the fireworks but I didn't really want to be the lady that was almost seven months pregnant walking around while my feet were swelling. We went to Chili's with Megan, Ricardo, Megan, Blake and Jenna and then we went to Megs new house to play a game and watch some fireworks. It was relaxing and a lot of fun. We even drank three bottles of apple cider before midnight! Here are a few pics from the night....
